Best Places to Visit in Las Vegas Jan 12th 2012, 16:44 When traveling to Las Vegas, even the most veteran travelers will have to admit that it is practically impossible to see and do everything the city has to offer. It would take months, if not years, to experience all that is Las Vegas, so savvy travelers will take the time to do a little homework beforehand and scope out the best places to visit in Las Vegas. As you plan your next Vegas trip, make sure your “things to see” list includes these locations: Bellagio The Bellagio Hotel is one of the places you must experience on a trip to Las Vegas. It is one of only two certified five diamond hotels in the city, and everything inside the towering structure is both grandiose and spectacular. A massive ceiling skylight lets natural light into the entry way, and fountains, glass sculptures, and fine art are found around every corner. Attractions within Bellagio include the “O” by Cirque du Soleil, a mesmerizing acrobatics performance, the Bellagio Conservatory, a beautiful garden for those who want to escape the city scene for a moment, and a luxury shopping center. The Bellagio Fountains, which are just outside of the building, are one of the most spectacular nighttime attractions in the entire city. Keep in mind that you must be 18 to enter this prestigious hotel, so you cannot visit with kids in tow. Mirage Hotel The Mirage Hotel is one of the landmarks of Las Vegas. Outside of the hotel you can watch the famous volcano erupt. This volcano is made of lights, fire and fountains and erupts every hour between dusk and midnight. Inside Mirage, visitors can experience a variety of natural wonders. The wall behind the front desk is not a wall at all, but actually a live coral reef aquarium. Here guests can watch sharks, stingrays, and beautiful tropical fish swim behind lighted glass. The aquarium houses over 1,000 live animals. A highlight of a trip to Mirage is a visit to Siegfried & Roy’s Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat. Here guests can come face to face with exotic animals, including white lions, panthers, white tigers, and leopards. Of course, bottlenose dolphins are also found there, and each habitat is housed in a lush, garden atmosphere. Circus Circus If you are visiting Vegas with kids, you must visit Circus Circus. This resort features a live circus and carnival midway that is open all day. Guests can watch free performances from acrobats in the circus tent and play for prizes at the games that surround the center ring. A highlight of a trip to Circus Circus is the Adventuredome, a large indoor amusement park complete with water rides, roller coasters, and traditional amusement park rides. This is a great place for the kids to burn off some energy, and admission is free. You simply pay for the rides you wish to experience. These are just three of the many attractions you must visit while you are in Las Vegas. They did not include such icons as Excalibur, Paris Las Vegas, and the Fremont Street Experience in Downtown Vegas. The attractions in Sin City are simply too many to list, so do your homework before you leave to ensure that you see everything you wish to on your next Las Vegas vacation.

2006 New Car Highlights Jan 12th 2012, 18:02 A new model year brings with it all new cars and the chance for automakers to bring fresh customers into their showrooms in the hopes that some will be persuaded to purchase the new car or at the very least switch to a new brand. The following are some the newest models being touted. Will any of them grab your attention? Your local dealers certainly hope so! Chevrolet HHR – Take one look at the HHR and you may think: this car looks awfully like Chrysler’s PT Cruiser. With that particular assessment, you are correct. Still, the car swiped its styling cues from the 1949 Chevrolet Suburban, but the HHR – Heritage High Top – will compete directly with the PT Cruiser as it does everything the PT Cruiser does and a bit more: you can fit an 8 foot ladder inside the vehicle. Honda Ridgeline – It has taken some time, but Honda has entered the pick up truck fray with its medium body Ridgeline. Standard four wheel drive, four doors, and a five foot bed with a trunk inside of the floor of the bed are some of the features that sets the Ridgeline apart from the competition. The Ridgeline comes equipped with a 3.5L all aluminum V6 engine and a 5 speed automatic transmission. Hyundai Azera – Developed to compete against the likes of the Toyota Avalon, the Azera comes equipped with a 3.8L all aluminum V6 engine. The five passenger Azera replaces the luxurious XG350. Jeep Commander – Trail rated fun just got a bit finer with the Commander, the largest Jeep yet with seating for seven passengers. Based on the Jeep Grand Cherokee’s frame, the Commander comes with three engine choices including a 3.7L V6, a 4.7L SOHC V8; and a 5.7 Hemi V8 that automatically shuts down four of the cylinders when not needed. Lincoln Mark LT – Ford’s luxury division gets it own version of the famous Ford F-150 line of pick up trucks. Available as a rear or four wheel drive vehicle, the Mark is a five passenger truck with ebony wood, leather seating, and a long list of luxury features. Standard engine is a Triton 5.4L V8. Mercury Milan – Based on the Mazda 6 platform, the Milan is a five passenger sedan that comes equipped with either a 2.3 I4 or 3.0L V6 engine. Related cars include the Ford Fusion and the upscale Lincoln Zephyr. Pontiac Solstice – GM says they created the Solstice to infuse a bit of fun in the Pontiac line up. The two seat rag top Solstice is meant to compete against the wildly famous Mazda Miata and with rear wheel drive, a pair of potent four cylinders to choose from, and priced starting around $20,000 the Solstice at least stands a chance to take away sales from the Miata. Many other models have been revamped for 2006 including the Honda Civic, Ford Explorer, Lexus IS, Mitsubishi Eclipse, Toyota Avalon and the Chevrolet Impala. Regardless of which model you choose, you are in the commander’s seat as the competition continues to heat up and great deals on new vehicles continue to flow.

Photography Business – The Fine Art Photography Jan 12th 2012, 19:27 All of the photos that express and meet an artist’s creative vision are called fine art photography. This isn’t the same as the commercial photographs and journalism that support the stories being published in printed media (newspapers, magazines, etc.). With commercial pictures the target is awfully clear: to sell a service. Then, photojournalism is necessary for any kind of magazine that utilizes documentaries. With this kind of photography business, keep in mind that this isn’t concerned in any of these kinds of services; it just makes the artistic side of the job. There are some genres that define this type of photography, which include natural landscapes, portraits and nudes. The last twenty years have seen a rise in the number of photography exhibitions around the globe. It’s now considered very fashionable to use prints and frames for such photography too. Many galleries nowadays display photos on boards without glass. The size of the prints differs depending on the purpose and the theme of the photo. It’s quite a fact that the beauty of such photos are undeniable! In very artistic representations, photos can be staged and lit so a new dimension is being added to the photographer’s vision. Furthermore, things have changed a lot with the arrival of full spectrum photography, thanks to the current digital technologies and complex cameras. The artist can now achieve a lot of effects by filtering ultraviolet light, visible light and infrared. Just as the technologies have improved, so does the printing, giving a lot of options to the artistic photographers. It’s amazing that a great number of fine art photography items sell in auction rooms annually, and for very high prices too. The flourishing collectors’ market takes almost all of the photos available for sale, because the public still doesn’t purchase this kind of photography as they only opt for prints of paintings. Also, some of the most beautiful pictures of the century can now be seen in museum studios and in prominent hallways. This is what occurs at trades, fashion shows and so many other multiple art events. Fine art photography may stand in opposition with commercial photography business and photojournalism, nonetheless it frequently owes them a lot. There are cases when the features specific to each one of these overlap, and the dividing lines between them get blurred. We see this every day with some of the pictures we admire in magazines as they are designed to be artistic and at the same time commercial.

Why Take Advantage of an Emerging Economy? An Istanbul Property Investment Jan 12th 2012, 22:45 For many economies, the firm grip of recession is still loosening its grip, but a few key opportunities for investors have emerged, and one such economy is that of Istanbul’s, where GDP has been averaging 7.5% per annum over the past five years – proving that it is now among the world’s elite. When you consider that its growing industry and young population have contributed to generating booming property market, it should come as little surprise that it was named as City of Culture 2010. And just as Turkey is no stranger to big businesses, because the likes of Bosch, Vodafone and Shell all have bases there, neither is Istanbul, as US car manufacturer Ford has an Istanbul plant. These organisations not only bring status and prestige to Istanbul, but they also bring corporate travellers and workers – which means an increased need for top class accommodation and office space. However, there is a whole wealth of reasons why this city, a cauldron of culture, industry and opportunity, is attracting property investors from across the world, besides its beauty both day and night, Istanbul actually offers one of the finest opportunities for investors today. Why an Istanbul Property Investment? • “The long-term economic prognosis for Turkey generally, and Istanbul specifically, is extremely positive…investors rank Istanbul first for development” PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PwC) • Istanbul has one of the world’s fastest growing economies, with GDP averaging 7.5% per annum over the past five years. • With the 15th largest economy in the world, “the downturn in Turkey resembled a ‘V’, rather than a ‘U’”, which indicates a far stronger and faster return to economic growth than neighbouring European countries • Istanbul won Capital of Culture for 2010, an award that has long-standing connections with considerable cultural, social and economic growth • This “large city with a young population” has helped Istanbul to be ranked first for development by PwC It would appear that ‘growth’ is the keyword for Istanbul at the moment, because an expanding airport to cope with the huge demands of incoming tourists and business people is making it a busy city just waiting for investors to take advantage and supply the overwhelming demand.
