Prevent Your Depression Jan 6th 2012, 05:56 Depression is an ailment that falls under the subject of psychology. This phrase is also used for reference to both general and clinical maladies. It is also used for specific references to pathological fields. The symptoms of this particular ailment involve feelings of lowness and feelings of despair which are popularly prevalent and visible in the very early stages amongst the effected. These feelings are accompanied by feelings of hopelessness, sadness, discouragement and lowness. Many people who are affected with it are known to explain it as usual feelings of sadness. Amongst the main causes of the onset of this particular disease are the genetic factors. Though no direct link has been ascertained amongst the genetic factors and this ailment, it is still commonly thought that its prevalence is mainly determined by the presence of hereditary factors and increment in certain hormones. Other than that the everyday instances, emotional outbursts, difficulties being faced in every day life all pay a defining role. It might also be associated by the loss of a loved one. Its duration depends entirely on the situation that led to it to the healing plan that will be meted out to the affected. But until and unless the patient personally pulls himself together chances of a successful recovery are bleak. Much has been written about its bad effects on a person’s emotional and physical health and in spite of the negativity that is generally associated with it there is a kind of faint benefit for those who want to realize it. For example several of the people who might be exposed to it may experience feelings of inertia and despondence which might eventually lead to the impulse to take some rest. Other than that depending on the situation and the level of the spread of this disease it may also lead to care from other people, which are much appreciated by the patients.

Best Tourist Spots in Lonavala Jan 6th 2012, 07:22 Lonavala is one of the most sought after hill stations in India. It is in close proximity to Pune and Mumbai, two major metros of the country. Pune lies at a distance of 64 kilometers from here while Mumbai is 96 kilometers away. The first thing that comes to mind upon hearing the town’s name is the famous Lonavala Chikki, which is a sweet candy made from jaggery and sesame seeds or peanuts. Both Mumbai-Pune Expressway and Mumbai-Pune Highway pass through Lonavala. It is a trekker’s paradise and is most favored during the monsoons. Known as the Jewel of the Sahyadris, Lonavala is located at an altitude of 625 meters above the sea level. This beautiful hill station provides an array of scenic surroundings which includes dense woods and valleys, free falling silvery waterfalls, historic caves and an abundance of natural beauty. The hills surrounding the town were the stronghold of the great Marathas and had played a key role during the guerrilla war between the Marathas and the Mughals. Today Lonavala has gained commercial recognition too. It is a summer resort for many leading industrialists as well as for the film fraternity. Many films and songs have also been shot ion the beautiful locales of Lonavala. Khandala is a close cousin of this town; located only five kilometers from here. Both these places together are spread over an area of 38 square kilometers and were discovered by Sir Elphinstone, the Governor of Bombay Presidency in the year 1871 who chose to make it his summer retreat. Lonavala derives its meaning from the Sanskrit word lonavali which means the presence of caves close by. There are a number of ancient caves in the area surrounding Lonavala like the Karla Caves, Bhaja Caves and the Bedsa Caves. Apart from this, the major tourist attractions in and around Lonavala include: Rajmachi Fort: This fort was one of the proud possessions of Shivaji Maharaj. One can easily see a number of historical forts in the Sahyadri ranges. It is located at a distance of 20 kilometers from Lonavala. There are two fortresses which comprise the Rajmachi – The taller one in the east is called Shrivardhan and the smaller one on the west is named as Manaranjan. There is a wide plateau on all sides of the two fortresses. There are numerous water tanks and reservoirs, temples and residential quarters on the fortresses. It is a must see place in the monsoons when the clouds rise above the mountains and engulf it in their folds. Rajmachi Point: This place is located about 6. 5 kilometers from Lonavala and is located directly opposite the Rajmachi Fort and the surrounding beautiful valley. Lohgad Fort: This fort was once a formidable battle station of Shivaji. It commands an awe inspiring view of the surrounding hills and hamlets along with the refreshing waterfalls and the ancient caves atop a steep flight of steps. Duke’s Nose: This popular destination is 12 kilometers from Lonavala and is clearly visible from the highway while driving for Mumbai. The cliff owes its name to the Duke of Wellington whose nose it resembles. Ryewood Park & Shivaji Udyaan: These are two beautiful gardens which are quite popular amongst the picnicking families. The garden features majestic tall trees with perfectly cut green grass, beautiful flowers and lot of place to sit around and relax. One can also visit the ancient Shiva temple that is located in the premises here.. Thus, Lonavala is a treasure trove for people who like to have a quiet moment away from the hustle and bustle of the city and for those also who are huge fans of trekking and hiking. No place better than LONAVALA!

Home Improvement, Interior Designing – Art Gallery At Home Jan 6th 2012, 08:16 You can turn everyday objects into artistic pieces just by the way you present them. When you display something in a prime space, it naturally assumes value and beckons a second glance. You can thus create graphic accents, lithographs, art prints, photos from your album, a graffiti board, a black board, or a swatch board of textile. Photo library You can display artistically taken photographs of your family, in black and white or colour, old childhood photographs of yourself, your mom, your pet cat etc, and pictures from a fashion shoot that you happened to attend. Create a soft board where you can perhaps, add a wooden frame around it, paint a coat of silver, and stick these pictures. Wallpaper To enliven a wall, simply wallpaper it. You don’t have to wallpaper the entire room, just one wall. Even a narrow one covering a niche will look great. It takes just a few hours, and will bring about a refreshing change indoors. You can even change it with the seasons. Some people love to wallpaper just a border near the ceiling, while others like to wallpaper only the centre, adding pattern and style to the space. If you travel abroad, you also find interesting wall decals which are modern art stickers of colourful flowers, tree boughs, people etc which you can place at intervals on a wall. Graffiti Create a large whiteboard, and have it fixed on a wall which is perhaps partly unused, and is in an odd place, say like behind a stairway.

Top 5 Luxury Spa Hotels in Europe Jan 6th 2012, 12:09 If you’re looking for a relaxing weekend break, a few nights at a spa hotel can really recharge your batteries. Discover a world of relaxation and indulgence at Europe’s top luxury spa hotels, from award-winning afternoon teas to exotic treatments. Here’s the low-down on the best spots for a massage that the continent has to offer… 1. Berkeley Hotel, London, UK Contemporary elegance is the best way to describe the beautiful Berkeley in Knightsbridge. Escape the pressures (and pollution) of the big smoke with a relaxing rooftop swim beneath the stars or one of the infamous Pret-a-Portea afternoon teas. What could be more relaxing than haute-design treats, such as Chanel lime cakes and Christian Dior pink chocolate biscuits? The legendary hotel is also top of the list for treatments; soothe yourself with a delicious LaStone massage or traditional Balinese therapies. 2. Canbonastre Wine Resort Hotel, Masquefa, Spain This divine wine resort in Spain is a masterpiece of indulgence – great Mediterranean food, fine wines, luxurious Lanvin accessories and the excellent Acuba Spa. Alongside the myriad treatments, there’s a pool, sauna and steam room to enjoy. There’s also a ‘wine therapy’ programme to ensure your total relaxation. 3. Capri Palace Hotel and Spa, Capri, Italy Capri is the destination for glitz and glamour. A firm favourite with the stars, it’s easy to see why this island pulls in the crowds year after year. The hotel takes uber-chic to a new level, but the spa is still the real gem here. It’s the kind of place where you can book a vascular stimulation treatment and a simple mud wrap all in one day. The pool scene is fabulous, too – enjoy the views of celebs sunning themselves, and the cliffs and sparkling seas beyond. 4. Lucknam Park Hotel, Colerne, UK Another exceptional spa in England, the Lucknam Park near Bath lies in the Wiltshire countryside. It’s a romantic hideaway of serenity and calm and the spa is a brand new multi-million pound extension to the manor house. Enjoy the hydrotherapy pools, long list of treatments and body-moulded heated beds – and if you get hungry, there’s a smart, contemporary brasserie on hand for a snack or two.. 5. Alchymist Grand Hotel and Spa, Prague, Czech Republic Further afield in the Czech Republic, this gorgeous neo-Baroque boutique hotel is located in the centre of Prague. The Alchymist has certainly never heard of minimalism; downstairs in the spa, the style switches to neo-Bali for the extensive health club facilities. Top of the list is the Jacuzzi lit by chandeliers.
